  • Head Mounted Display (HMD)

Modified M1 Personal Viewer from Liquid Image. The M1 contains a monochrome Kopin 320M CyberDisplay. I tore my M1 apart though (of course) and put the 320M, Wire-ZIF PWB and backlight into a pair of sunglasses for a more comfortable, less obtrusive experience. I also moved the signal inversion board away from my head and into the video/power converter belt pack. The finished, modified unit also bypasses the internal 5V regulator on the video/power converter board so it can be powered directly by +5V, which is more power efficient.

  • Wireless Networking

Tellus Technology TPRM 130c OEM CDPD module.

  • Power Supply

2 Lenmar LIS950H Lithium Ion batteries connected in series. These 7.2 volt batteries are sold as Sony InfoLithium NPF-950 equivalents, but whereas Sony's NPF-950 batteries are 4500mAh, these are 5550mAh. They are therefore really more equivalent to Sony InfoLithium NPF-960 batteries (which are 5400mAh), but are sold as NPF-950 equivalents nonetheless. In short, they are significantly less expensive than either of their Sony counterparts, hold more charge and I am boycotting Sony products for good reason anyway. The dimensions of LIS950H batteries are 2 3/4 x 1 1/2 x 2 3/8 inches. For charging, I bought 2 Lenmar OmniSource Li-Ion L16 (BCVL16) battery chargers.

  • Miscellaneous

To house the whole rig, I bought a Lowepro Photo Runner. It is very well made, comfortable and designed for action.
