Wow, thanks for replying! I didn't really think you
would, but I figured I had nothing to lose :-)
In terms of the BackupPC you mentioned - let me ask
you a question. How do you incorporate an offsite
backup when using it? I have some ideas, but would
love your feedback. I am toying with the idea of
going with some portable USB ION drives rather than
ever touching a tape backup drive again (I've had
enough, thank you). The obvious issue is that to
preserve data in case of fire, etc., the backup would
need to be taken off site on a routine basis. I can
purchase two ION drives and instruct my client to swap
them out at regular intervals, but I'm wondering if
there is a better solution than that.
Anyway, thanks so much for your help. I'll let you
know the results (although I'm not going to expect
much because after all it IS a Sony SuperStation
drive!!)
