Just a suggestion for everyone. Apparently
Sony isn't interested in anything to do with the Superstation drive since they
know they aren't making any money from it anymore. So if that is the case
why don't we all band together and make sure that it costs them quite a bit of
money. I've read quite a few messages about bad tapes for the drive.
These tapes have a lifetime guarantee on them! If we all send our tapes
back for new tapes, and then send the new ones back for new ones again, etc.,
Sony will be forced to address the cost issue one way or the other. Even
if the tapes we send to them are not bad they will be forced to dedicate
personnel to researching and testing every single tape that comes back to
them. If enough of us keep a flood of tapes coming to them the cost will
certainly add up to something that they will be forced to address. Since
they cannot go back and retroactively do away with the lifetime warranty their
only recourse to stop the cost to them for new tapes will be to address the
situation. This could be even more effective if all of us got together and
sent the tapes at the same time so they would be so overwhelmed with these tapes
that someone higher up the channel might notice.
I don't know how it would work but if we all keep
complaining to Sony individually we will never get anything done. If
we band together we will have a much stronger
position.
