Dear Sony,
I have two Sonysuperstations and both have problems.
Frequently error messages and tape errors which indicate formatting
problems appear. The backup some times takes two days to run or never
ends. It conflicts with other software and I can not run back-ups
automatically. I must close other software for the back up to begin. In the
past I returned one superstation for repair and in the interim
purchased the new one. After about 6 months or more of not
hearing from you concerning the repair I called only to find that the location
where I dropped off the backup had closed. Thank God I had all of my
paperwork. Although you never found the backup you sent me a new one which also
did not run for long without the same problems.
I can not find the backup tapes anymore at Staples or
CompUSA. I have gone on line and have trouble finding them. I had up
to 6 at one time and each one gradually stopped working. I could not
successfully erase them and they kept having error messages which stated
they needed formatting. This experience potentially became a
nightmare when my business program had a problem. I shipped my latest backup to
them and they could not retore it. I too tried to restore and the
backup failed to do what I bought it for!!!All this time I was backing up data
only to find out that there would be a problem restoring it.
I am very dissatisfied with this product. I came across
a Web site 'The Sony Superstation is Garbage'. I was surprised to find
that so many others have experienced the same problem. I bought this
product as well as other Sony products over the years because of
the name Sony and thought that you stood behind your products. Currently I
have two backups that don't work and I operate my business daily without
the protection of a reliable backup system.
What do you plan to do about all of the problems the Sony
Superstation is having and how can I get my money back for the purchase of 2
SonySuperstations as well as at least 6 backup tapes? Evelyn
