I too have been taken by sony. I even bought a new tape thinking that the first one had failed. no luck. All my cussing has not helped so I have decided to look for a new tape drive. What do you think of the Seagate Hornet(model sst28000A 4/8 gig for my home pc? I plan to throw the sony in the Chattahoochee River, well  No it might pollute the fish that are still alive.
