[Fwd: Re: Sony Superstation]
Ross,
Hi, I finally added this to my "Sony SuperStation is Garbage" webpage.
http://www.gnutec.com/~amonk/sony_superstation.html
Thanks for the info. And, BTW, there is definately no Linux version
of Veritas' Backup Exec Desktop software. :-(
Also, if you don't mind answering a few questions, I'm curious about
a couple things.
1) Which M$ Windows did you get this setup working with, 3.11, 95,
98, ME, NT, 2000?
2) Is it still working well for you? And if so, how often do you
make backups with it. And have you ever tried to restore any of
the data to verify that you can restore properly?
3) Do you have an internal or external SuperStation?
Thanks again,
- Kyle

Thanks, I'll add this info to the webpage soon. And I'll check
out the possibility of a Linux version of Backup Exec Desktop
from Veritas as well, but I'm not holding my breath since it would
be necessary to modify the ide-atapi tape driver in the kernel
specifically for the Sony SuperGarbage as well in order for such
a thing to actually work.
